The technological basis for the “Eastern Regional Plant” of Tavantolgoi Fuel LLC was developed in accordance with the technical assignment approved by the client, and the corresponding report has been prepared.

The Eastern Plant of “Tavantolgoi Fuel” LLC, located in Bag 1 of Sergelen soum, Tuv Province, commissioned a project for the production of 720,000 tons of briquetted fuel per year, based on the technological foundation of its existing facility. In accordance with the technical assignment approved by the client, the work was carried out and a report was prepared. The report was reviewed and endorsed at the meeting of the Mineral Processing Sub-Council of the Professional Council on Mineral Resources under the Ministry of Mining and Heavy Industry on May 17, 2024.

In 2022, the Government of Mongolia issued a decision to relocate the Western Plant of “Tavantolgoi Fuel” LLC. Consequently, there arose a requirement to increase the production capacity of both the Central and Eastern plants. Furthermore, the need to achieve the capacity defined in the previous feasibility study also served as a basis for preparing the present feasibility study.

The project for the expansion and modernization of the Eastern Plant of “Tavantolgoi Fuel” LLC adopts a 10-year evaluation period to assess capital investment, revenues, operating costs, and overall economic efficiency. Within this period, it is planned to construct expansion buildings for production workshops and other auxiliary infrastructure facilities, procure and install new equipment, and replace and upgrade certain obsolete equipment.
